The UCR Bioengineering 15th Year Celebration

It has already been 15 years since Jerome S. Schultz worked to initiate the UCR Department of Bioengineering. Starting with just four other faculty members, the department now has 17 core faculty, seven cooperating faculty and nearly 50 Bioengineering Interdepartmental Graduate Program (BIG) faculty advisors. We have graduated over 800 BS majors, and nearly 200 MS an 82 PhD students. Our alumni have positions all across the globe in all aspects of bioengineering related fields from industrial leaders to academic professors, all helping to make the world a better place. In the words of Dr. Satish K. Tripathi, past dean of the college and current president of SUNY Buffalo, "I have followed the growth and I am happy to see that it has developed into a  top tier department. Hiring/attracting Jerry was one of the best decisions I made at UCR. It was no brainer;  he already had established two bioengineering departments – at Michigan and Pittsburgh. Congratulations to the department on its 15th anniversary."

Please join us as we celebrate our 15th anniversary on Friday, October 22, 2021 beginning at 8:00 AM. The program will be a hybrid platform with the in-person format housed in MRB first-floor conference room. Presentations will be from industry, key academic and federal agency leaders and our alumni. The reception will begin at 6:00 PM.

The webinar link will be provided shortly.
